We at Hjemstavnsgårdens Campingplads / Glamsbjerg Camping take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data when you visit our website, make a booking, stay at our campsite, sign up for our newsletter, or otherwise interact with us.

2. What personal data do we collect?

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Contact and booking information: Name, address, phone number, email address, booking dates, number of guests, and any special requests.
  • Identification and legal requirements: For overnight stays we are required by Danish law to register certain information such as name, address, date of birth and nationality of guests.
  • Payment and invoicing information: Processed securely via our payment provider – we do not store full card details ourselves.
  • Newsletter data: Email address and consent status when you sign up for our newsletter.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and cookies when you visit our website.
  • Other: Any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us or leaving feedback.

We only collect the data that is necessary for the purposes described below.

4. How long do we keep your data?

We only keep your personal data for as long as necessary:

  • Booking and guest data: Up to 2 years after your stay (due to legal guest registration requirements).
  • Accounting and invoicing documents: 5 years (Danish bookkeeping rules).
  • Newsletter consent and email data: Until you withdraw your consent.
  • Technical/website data (cookies): As specified in our Cookie Policy.

After the retention period, we delete or anonymise your data.

5. Who do we share your data with?

We may share your personal data with the following recipients (all under strict data processing agreements where required):

  • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) – for sending our newsletters. Your email address and consent status are transferred to Mailchimp in the USA. Mailchimp acts as our data processor and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
  • Billy (Billy ApS) – for bookkeeping, invoicing and accounting. We integrate with Billy to handle financial data such as invoices, payments and accounting entries. Billy acts as our data processor and processes the data only on our instructions.
  • Providers for payment processing and basic calendar blocking (only limited data such as dates – no names or contact details are shared with external booking systems).
  • Public authorities when required by law (e.g. guest registration).
  • IT suppliers and hosting providers who process data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We plan to implement Google Analytics in the near future for website statistics. When activated, this will involve sharing technical data (such as anonymised IP addresses) with Google. We will ensure appropriate supplementary measures are in place to comply with GDPR requirements.

Data transfers outside the EU/EEA only occur with appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses).

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

  • Right of access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) – subject to legal obligations.
  • Right to restriction of processing.
  • Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Right to data portability.
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time (especially important for newsletter subscriptions – you can unsubscribe via the link in every email).
